Just a little reminder regarding RAMP-SF orientations…

Currently, the RAMP-SF Academy is recruiting for their April sessions!

If you know of persons between 18-24 years old and they are in need of job readiness training, please feel free to directly refer them to a RAMP-SF Academy orientation.

Interested persons need to attend a RAMP-SF orientation to begin the application process. Below are orientation dates for February:

-FEBRUARY 2: 73 Leland, Visitacion Valley One Stop
-FEBRUARY 9: 1449 Webster, Goodwill Western Addition One Stop
-FEBRUARY 16: 1500 Mission, Goodwill One Stop
-FEBRUARY 23: 3120 Mission, Mission One Stop

All orientations start at 3:00PM SHARP and it is highly advised applicants arrive on time! Anyone arriving after the 3:00PM start time will be asked to attend the next available orientation.

The RAMP-SF Academy is actively accepting applications for their January and February 2012 sessions.

To apply, interested persons must attend a RAMP-SF Academy orientation.

This Way Ahead, a program of Enterprise for High School Students, is recruiting SF high school students ages 16-18 for our training and employment program. To apply youth must attend an Information Session at our office, 200 Pine St, 6th floor. You can call 415-392-7600 ext 319 to sign-up for one of the remaining Information Sessions.

Program Description

This Way Ahead begins with a 14 week (January-April) Job Readiness and Career Exploration Training. Once youth have completed the training they are eligible to apply for an exclusive 4 month (June-September) paid internship in Gap and Old Navy stores in San Francisco.

Program Perks:

• Through the training youth will gain:
  • Confidence, communication skills and positive decision-making abilities
  • Job-readiness skills (how to get a job and keep a job)
  • Access to supportive adult role models
  • Greater access to employment and career opportunities
• $50.00 stipend every two weeks
• Free monthly Muni pass
• Customer service training from managers at Gap and Old Navy
• Possibility of paid 4 month internship in a Gap or Old Navy store
• Enterprise Membership: access to our job bank & 3 paid summer programs

There is no formal referral process. Interested persons just need to attend a RAMP-SF orientation to begin the application process. Below are orientation dates for November:

The Burton High School will be hosting their Freshmen Family Day, an all day open school event on August 13, 10 – 3pm. There will be a high school resource fair section during lunch.This event will be a great opportunity to outreach to families, including parents and 9th grade incoming freshmen.
